claire rousay is a percussionist, electronics artist, and composer who has emerged as one of the most celebrated and genuinely distinctive voices in contemporary experimental music. Her work occupies a singular space: simultaneously drawing from free improvisation, ambient music, noise, and a kind of intimate documentary realism in which the sounds of everyday life — conversation, environmental noise, the texture of personal experience — become the raw material for music that is at once formally sophisticated and emotionally direct.
