Chimera [CAA-043]

Description

Chimera, a new duo recording by Joe Morris and Ben Hall created for Catalytic listeners, continues to excavate the use and meaning of pulse between the two musicians. For this recording Hall has again augmented his kit to build out a new set of voicings using large samba bass drums and wooden toms to create multidirectional movement outside of the normally associated idiomatic sounds. The outcome is a scaffold created for Morris to alight upon, in, and around.
