💥 PRE-ORDER! 💥 @audiographicrecords is excited to announce the upcoming release of @ken_vandermark newest album, a double CD entitled A Living Poets Group. It combines four extraordinary suites of music composed by Vandermark featuring performances by a sextet that includes critically acclaimed Chicagoans: @josh.berman.chicago (cornet), @54bpm (keyboards), @lil.g.finn (drums), @nckmcr (electric & acoustic bass/electronics), and @bethtuba (tuba/electronics). In addition, readings by three key contemporary poets- @c_ed_roberson , Kai Ihns, and @heyclown - are interspersed between the suites. Recorded live at the legendary @greenmilljazz in Chicago on August 1st and 2nd of 2025, this unique combination of six sets of improvised music introduced by the poetry of Roberson, Ihns, and Taylor was presented to a standing room only crowd on both nights.

💿 This double CD includes an eight-page booklet of liner notes, photographs (by @tschmoll ), and transcriptions of the three poems included on these recordings, with a cover by visual artist, John Sparagana. A Living Poets Group will be officially released by Audiographic Records as a limited-edition album of 500 on October 1st, but pre-sales are being taken now. /// STREAM THE ALBUM NOW — EXCLUSIVELY ON SOUNDSTREAM, BEFORE ITS OFFICIAL RELEASE

🚨 NEW ADDITION on VINYL 🚨 — from @amalgam_chicago

🚨 NEW ADDITION on VINYL 🚨 — from @amalgam_chicago , "The musicianship of @lil.g.finn 's Double Drum Quintet clearly reflects a rich and meticulous understanding of the jazz tradition, but not in a purely demonstrative or overly labored manner. This is music that understands punk music as being centered in a sense of energy, one that can be easily transmuted across whatever arbitrary categorizations are forced on the music. When the playing does get more intense and aggressive, it never feels forced. The energy is always flowing, regardless of the tonality.” -Levi Dayan
