These two Catalytic Sound mainstays and longtime collaborators have worked in countless ensembles together for roughly 25 years. But this recent live outing recorded at the Hungry Brain in Chicago as part of Rempis’ September 2024 weekly residency marks their first duo recording. The breadth of their interaction spans driving rhythmic sections, breathy melodies, and pointillistic explorations, a shared language that they’ve developed through all those years of focused work.
